Julio C. Parra, age 35 years, of Clintonville passed away on Monday, February 18, 2013 at his home.


Julio Cesar Parra Gonzalez was born on September 16, 1977 in Maturin, State of Monagas, Venezuela, to Julio and Consuelo (Gonzalez Sanchez) Parra Velasquez. After high school he went on to earn his Associates Degree in Tourism. Julio was united in marriage on August 2, 2003 to Rebecca E. Schultz at Christ Congregational Church, Clintonville. The couple met while Rebecca was studying in Venezuela. They first lived in Milwaukee, then in 2005 moved to Madison, and in 2009 settled in Clintonville. Julio worked as a CNA for several years at Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center and then he was employed for some time at Manawa Nursing Home. He also worked as a banquet server at the Oneida's Radisson Hotel in his spare time. Currently, he was employed at Capital Credit Union in Greenville. Julio liked spending time outdoors, bird watching and hiking in the Venezuelan mountains. He had an amazing memory of movies and people. Soccer was his favorite sport, but he did become a Packer fan, and he was a loyal friend to everyone he met. Julio had a gentle spirit and will be remembered most as a loving husband and father.


Survivors include his wife, Rebecca, and two daughters, Sofia and Amalia, his parents, Julio and Consuelo Parra of Maturin, Venezuela, his father and mother-in-law, Jim and Ruth Ann Schultz of Clintonville, and his maternal grandmother, Joanne Schultz of Cottage Grove. There are two sisters, Julice (special friend Oscar Newman) Parra Gonzalez and Jelice Parra Gonzalez, both of Merida, Venezuela. There are two sisters-in-law, Johanna (Armando) Morillo of Albuquerque, NM, and Sarah (special friend Jamison Hein) Schultz of Clintonville. Julio is further survived by aunts, uncles, many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and maternal grandparents.


A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 23rd at 11:00 AM at Christ Congregational Church, Clintonville, with Rev. Jill Meyer officiating. Friends may call on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of service, both days at the church. The Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville, is assisting the family.
